ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT
Economic development, particularly at the accelerated rate being achieved in emerging markets, can potentially take a heavy toll on the environment. REC provides client governments with expertise on environmental impact assessment, as well as on developing strategies to deliver sustainable, environment-friendly energy solutions.
Previous product work has included city-specific environment assessments, focusing on pollution levels, and designing subsequent environment protection programs at both local and national levels. REC has also evaluated environmental improvement opportunities across a wide spectrum of industries, including cement, pulp and paper, textile, steel, and sugar. Implemented measures included energy conservation guidelines and fuel substitution.
