GOVERNMENT REGULATION
REC assists client governments and their partners in designing the regulatory framework for their respective energy sectors. Previous project work has included formulating tariff structures, tax incentives, and transmission grid operating plans.
REC has also been involved in major energy sector privatization initiatives in developing countries. These initiatives focus on promoting competition as the driving force for improved energy delivery. Privatization projects have focused on market-based reforms, such as creating competitive sector structure and strengthening market regulations to ensure investor confidence. REC has also assisted governments with assessing the social impact of energy sector restructuring.
